Shoe Trees Fire in Idaho. A ’shoe tree’ in the Boise, Idaho Northern engulfed the red rooster, recently. Local forestry officials said the piles of rubber-soled shoes on a tree in Priest River region makes fire difficult to control.

Since the 1940’s, tourists and local people ‘dress’ a cedar tree with hundreds of pairs of shoes ranging from sneakers to boots. These cover not only the decoration but also branch of a tree trunk, thus giving birth ’shoe tree’.
Thursday (7/15/2010) earlier, firefighters found a shoe tree on fire. Difficult to put out flames as hundreds of pairs of shoes that cover the cedar trees melting.
Local governments actually have long been banned people add shoes to the tree. However, a shoe tree has already become a tourist attraction at various tourist sites.
